Absolutely not! We welcome both couples and singles. Our classes work on rotation so you will be dancing with different people throughout the class which will help you improve much faster.
Ceroc dancing is an aerobic exercise, so make sure that you keep a spare shirt and deodorant in your bag for comfort. Bring a towel to mop up after those hectic dance sessions!
Bring a friend! It can be easier to try something new when you have a friend by your side.
Wear clothing that is easy and comfortable to dance in, both for yourself and your partner. Remember, even in winter you warm up quickly on the dance floor. Short sleeves and breathable fabrics are highly recommended.
Comfortable smooth soled shoes (not trainers) are great while learning. Thongs/flip-flops are inappropriate and should not be worn for dancing.
Once your skill level improves you may consider investing in dance trainers or shoes. We can assist you on choosing the best type and style for you.
At Ceroc we understand that sometimes life gets in the way and you might have to miss a week. Our classes are designed to stand-alone. You will learn 3-4 moves that link together to form a mini routine that you can use straight away in the freestyle sessions.
Obviously, the more classes you attend the faster you will progress with your dancing. But don’t worry, all Dance Passes have NO ‘use by date’.
Try your best to say “yes” if asked for a dance, it can take a lot of courage for someone to ask you. If you have to decline a dance please do it with courtesy and respect.
Remember that you can ask any of the Instructors for a dance too. We love to help beginners build up their confidence and we will offer feedback if you let us know you are open to it.
Members and friends of Ceroc Club Brisbane are often out dancing on weekends at Sports clubs, RSL clubs and other venues. If you want to join, contact us
We recommend a new dancer completes 8 – 10 Beginner lessons (including Consolidation classes) before starting our Intermediate level classes. When you think you’re ready, you probably are. Feel free to ask one of the Instructors to assess your readiness at any time.
