Hi fellow Ceroc’ers,
As you all know, the only way we can slow the spread of COVID-19 is with social distancing.
All partner dancing involves close physical contact, exactly the opposite of social distancing. For this reason, the Ceroc Club Brisbane Committee have decided to suspend our Thursday night classes and events as of today until further notice. This includes the ABBA dance routine, workshops and the showcase night in May. Stay tuned for the situation on the ball in August.
We will be following the advice from Health authorities (including https://www.health.gov.au/) and will keep you updated so please make sure you keep an eye out for the Newsletter and connect with us on Facebook and Instagram.
In the meantime, please heed the health warnings, be well and let’s all band together to look after the vulnerable in our community.

Ceroc is a stylish form of Modern Jive – a fusion of Latin and Jive that is easy to learn. It’s fun, it’s social and best of all it caters for people with two left feet! Modern Jive goes with modern music. Learn to dance to the top 40 and classic hits from the 80s, 90s to now.
Ceroc dates back to France in World War II, when the American GIs showed the French how to swing and jitterbug. With the sixties, dance was inspired by the Twist, the Watusi and the Mashed Potato.
In the eighties, Ceroc spread world wide. Now people in the USA, UK, Europe, New Zealand and Australia enjoy dancing Ceroc; with venues in most major cities.
Influenced by ballroom, Latin American, and Rock ‘n’ Roll, Ceroc has become an addictive dance style with something for everyone!
Starting is easy. Just arrive at the club by 7:00pm and let the person on the front desk know that you are here for the first time. They will explain a couple of options in regards to payment and then introduce you to the teachers ready to start the beginners class at 7.20pm.
